Is 4 hrs a good size battery life for a college-use laptop?

So I am considering buying the Dell Inspiron duo convertible laptop. It is an amazing laptop. I absolutely love it. It doubles as a tablet pc. Check it out at: http://www.dell.com/us/p/inspiron-duo/pd
It battery life is a little over 4 hours. If I buy it I’m going to use it in college and also I like to read ebooks and because it doubles as a tablet pc, I can do that smoothly with the touch screen. So then I would have a laptop and an ebook reader in one. I really like this laptop, but I’m not sure if the battery life will be efficient for college life. I read on a website that I good battery life for a laptop that is going to be use in college is 3-4 hours. What do you think?
Please don’t tell me that I should invest in a MacBook. I am a non-Apple consumer. Their products are overpriced. Although they do have excellent battery lives of up to over 10 hours.

Well battery life is determined by the amount of applications running on your computer as well as the number of processes. If you want to lower power consumption I recommend you to set the battery to power saver, dim the screen, remove irrelevant processes and remember that some processes are crucial for your computer to operate smoothly. Since you are going to be frequently using the laptop for college I suggest running lighter applications and not running applications simultaneously to preserve the battery life. Having proper charge cycles are the building blocks to maintaining the immaculate condition of the battery, one day you charge till it reaches 99% then you use it via battery. Basically charge intervals. Furthermore the battery should be efficient if proper maintenance is followed. I recommend using that laptop for light-moderately demanding applications, video, music, word processing, web browsing and other low demanding desires. All the best
